Mayor’s Minutes: Robbinsdale’s Bill Blonigan
Robbinsdale Mayor Bill Blonigan spoke with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser recently, touching on several ways residents can interact and even share input with city leaders.
Elections
It’ll be a busy election season in Robbinsdale, with primaries set for August 13. That day, voters can select who will be on the November 5 general election ballot for races including for mayor and for city council seats from Wards 1 and 2, along with choosing that same day the person to fill the remainder of the Ward 2 seat until the end of this year.
“Keep in touch with our website and other news sources for when and where you vote,” Blonigan told Kiser.
Park System Survey
The city has online a parks system survey. Blonigan encouraged everyone to take part.
“We’re going to find out from you, with regard to our five- and ten-year plan: what are your thoughts and how do you use our park system and how can we plan for the future according to what you think?” said Blonigan.
Whiz Bang Days
The city’s annual Whiz Bang Days comes back July 11-14, culminating with the coronation of ambassadors and fireworks on Saturday night and the parade on Sunday. Blonigan encourges everyone to volunteer time or to donate to the efforts.
“It’s a lot of what the heart of the community is,” he said.
