Mayor’s Minutes: Plymouth’s Jeffry Wosje
Plymouth’s mayor wants to remind residents how to stay active–and warm–this winter.
Mayor Jeff Wosje talked with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser about different offerings at the city’s community center and field house this winter, including walking and running tracks inside both.
“Plymouth really encourages our residents to maintain a healthy lifestyle and be active through the winter,” said Wosje.
The fieldhouse offers indoor options for football, soccer, rugby, and other field sports, while the community center’s open gym is available for basketball, pickle ball, and other activities.
Kids can also enjoy play time indoors thanks to the K.U.B.E., or Kids’ Ultimate Backyard Experience, also at the community center. The 7,000-square-foot indoor playground allows for indoor play for ages 2-12.
“They don’t have to be out in the cold,” said Wosje.
The mayor also talked about upcoming traditional winter and holiday events, including Holiday at the Hilde.
“Come and enjoy the lights and enjoy the festive season,” Wosje said about the decorations, which are up now. Parking is available near Plymouth City Hall.
He also promoted the city’s annual Fire and Ice event at Parker’s Lake on February 3 from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m.
It will include hockey, ice skating, ice fishing, and more.
