Mayor’s Minutes: Osseo’s Duane Poppe
Osseo Mayor Duane Poppe talked with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser as part of the Mayor’s Minutes segment on Wednesday, December 20.
The two talked about the recently-finished city budget process.
“Our budget will be up, but the majority of the budget increase this year will be the police. Law enforcement and police in our community are important, and we’ve taken the steps to accomplish that,” Poppe said.
He also mentioned how important the busy election year of 2024 will be for the city.
“We have two council members and the mayor up,” he said.
One way residents can get involved at city hall is by serving on an advisory commission or committee.
“We’re always looking for people to bring a different voice to the community,” said Poppe, who mentioned openings on the economic development authority, the planning commission, and the city’s heritage preservation commission. He encourages anyone who is interested to contact city hall for more information.
