Maple Grove Mayor Steffenson Lauds Expansion of Boston Scientific

Maple Grove Mayor Mark Steffenson praised the expansions of Boston Scientific at its two locations in the city recently when he spoke with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser. The company is building a companion building to its new facility near the intersection of Interstate 694 and U.S. Highway 269.

“It’s a great new facility with a lot of great, new jobs for us,” said Mayor Steffenson about the 320,000-square foot building. He also mentioned the company is expanding its older building along Weaver Lake Road. The expansions will bring the company’s total employee force in Maple Grove to 7,000.

Steffenson said he was also encouraged by plans to build more senior housing on the city’s north side, this time off Fernbrook Lane. 

“It’s a need all over town, it’s a focus on the Boomer generation that’s aging out, so it’s good to have that new development and the new senior housing as well,” said Steffenson.
