Golden Valley Working With Developer On Site of New Wells Fargo Branch and Adjacent Apartment Building
Wells Fargo’s new branch is open near the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Golden Valley Road, just off Highway 55.
“They’ve shifted the property lines a little bit to add some walkway and pedestrian amenities,” said Golden Valley Assistant Community Development Director Darren Groth. He said the new branch replaces the old Wells Fargo building that was nearby, and was cleared to make way for a new 303-unit mixed-income apartment building.
“Some of (the units are at) at 60% AMI, area median income,” said Groth. The apartment building should open in by Fall 2026.
Groth said the developers worked with the city on how to provide as many amenities as possible in the new building. Along with underground parking, Groth said there would be facilities for electric vehicle charging, storing bicycles, and lots of walking paths to access the building.
“Getting a development like this in downtown Golden Valley, so close to the big city, is great,” said Groth. “It’s a push, a lot of cities are cognizant in that. It should be a good location. If you look across, you can see Brookview (Golf Course). There’s a lot of incentives in being close in downtown Golden Valley.”
