Crystal Continues Progress on Current Strategic Plan
(CITY OF CRYSTAL) – Starting in early 2025, the Crystal City Council, members of the city’s senior leadership team, and a facilitator held interviews and several strategic planning sessions. Additionally, several council members and a staff member met as a working group to develop a new mission, vision, and values. At these sessions, the group reviewed the current strategic priorities and discussed what current challenges and opportunities the community was facing that should be considered when determining updated priorities and initiatives for the next several years.
To achieve the long-term comprehensive community vision that is desired, shorter-term plans must be developed and implemented to build upon. Based on these discussions, four new strategic
priorities were identified:
1. Develop a 25-year Comprehensive Community Vision Plan.
2. Achieve and Maintain Financial Stability.
3. Increase Community Engagement, Connection, and Safety.
4. Enhance infrastructure and development
“We want to be held accountable from the public,” said Crystal City Manager Adam Bell. “The council holds me accountable, as leader of the operations in the city. We have a list: here’s the things we want to focus on in the short term, here’s the things in the long term, and it really does help to keep it in the forefront of what we’re talking about.”
