Brooklyn Park’s Tater Daze Parade and Community Gathering is June 1
The Brooklyn Park Tater Daze Parade and Community Gathering will once again take over the heart of the city on Saturday, June 1.
The parade starts at 11:00 a.m. on 85th Avenue North and its followed by the Community Gathering at the Community Activity Center at noon.
“We’re so excited to celebrate Brooklyn Park with the community,” said City of Brooklyn Park Recreation and Parks Community Event Specialist Michelle Change. “This event… kicks off our summer events that the Brooklyn Park Recreation and Parks team offers.”
At the community gathering will be live music, food trucks, games, and a Maker’s Market with local artisans and small businesses on hand to sell their services and goods.
“I also like to think of it as a way for folks from different generations to be able to connect with each other and for us to just see who our community is and to connect with each other,” said Chang.
Headlining the entertainment is local performer Lt. Sunnie.
City staff will also provide a cool, quiet place for people to stop in at its Health on the Go trailer, parked at the Community Activity Center.
“They will be providing a space where folks can go if they need a quiet space or if they need a parenting space, a prayer space,” said Chang.
