What are your qualifications for this office?
I was born and raised in Brooklyn Park. My parents still live in the house where I grew up. After about 10 years in Chicago and 3 years in Arden Hills, I chose to move back to Brooklyn Park with my family. My kids attend Osseo Public Schools (PC/BMS/BG) and have participated in several parks programs and use our park facilities regularly. I have served on the Human Right Commission since 2016 (two years as chair) and have participated in several other city activities. I love Brooklyn Park!
What do you hope to accomplish in office?
1. Build confidence, trust, and healthy relationships between the BPPD and the community.
2. Steward the proceeds from the park bond to build an enjoyable, inclusive park experience for all residents
3. Think and act creatively regarding economic development, especially in the south half of the city.
4. Partner with other levels of government, community orgs. , and non-profits to protect and expand affordable housing options.
5. Provide for sustainability of BPFD staff and equiptment.
