What are your qualifications for this office?
I am a 12 years community organizer , co-founder of Black Immigrant Collective, I facilitate the Northwest Suburbs Community and Labor coalition, I am a 2 times appointed member of the MN State Board of Electricity , I’m an appointed board member of the MN Council of African Heritage, I’m newly appointed to the Brooklyn Center Planning Commission, I serve on the Board of African Career Education Resource Inc (ACER). I am also a graduate of St. Cloud State University.
What do you hope to accomplish in office?
Brooklyn Center is a vibrant growing city. I hope to work with other elected officials to bring investments that bring equitable economic growth to our city. As a union member and leader, I will support Community benefit agreements with new developments that center the needs and input of Brooklyn Center residents, Work to bring in businesses and employers that pays livable wage, invest in programs or partnership that prepare young people to the workforce, and invest in our small businesses.
