From an era of persecution to conservation and management, Minnesota’s black bears are truly a conservation success story.  This program is part of the 2026 Big Year of Rivers Speaker Series.

Relax at the Gateway Center and do some coloring! Meet the animal ambassadors, touch animal furs and use their coloring for inspiration or make up your own designs.  Participants ages 11 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Stroll the Treetop Trail while enjoying a variety of nature poetry, then try your hand at writing your own haiku or other style of poem.
