What are your qualifications for this office?
I am a parent with two children still enrolled in the district and a background in financial services and technology. My public policy experience includes serving on the board of multiple state and national Social Work regulatory agencies. More closely to our community, I have served on various commissions and councils from the Brooklyn Park Human Rights Commission and previously, the Hennepin County Human Resources Board.
What do you hope to accomplish in office?
I want to represent my community in Brooklyn Park related to management of the budget, larger policy decisions on boundaries, school safety, and academic disparities. The significant disparities between our cities, specifically our students of color and white students, are what holds this district back from being a good school district for some to becoming a Top Tier choice for all families. Equity, mental health support, individualized success, and fiscal responsibilities are my priorities.
