Wayzata’s Skoro Transfers to Minnesota
2016 Wayzata High School graduate Tom Skoro will pitch for the University of Minnesota baseball team after transferring from Missouri.
Skoro made just two appearances in a pandemic-shortened season at Mizzou in 2020, allowing no runs in 2 2/3 innings pitched.
He played two years of junior college baseball at North Iowa Area Community College, posting a 10-6 record while recording 127 strikeouts in 86 innings.
As a senior at Wayzata in 2016 the left-hander won 10 games with an earned run average of 1.41 to help lead the Trojans to the Class AAAA state championship.
He was named All-Metro and All-State in high school and Honorable Mention All-NJCAA Region XI at North Iowa.
Skoro is one of six incoming members of the Gophers’ 2020-21 class.
