Wayzata Post 118 Wins Gopher Classic
Wayzata Post 118 won the Gopher Classic American Legion Baseball tournament Tuesday, defeating New Ulm 9-3 in the championship game.
Brennan Albert drove in three runs for Wayzata and Ben Leuthner pitched six strong innings to earn the win. Post 118 broke open a close game with five runs in the seventh inning.
The team finished 8-1 in the grueling 96-team, five-day tournament. It is Wayzata’s third Gopher championship in four seasons.
