Wayzata Girls Basketball Survives Test
The Wayzata girls basketball team survived a mighty test from Maple Grove to win 49-44.
Wayzata improved to 15-0 with the win that was anything but easy.
Maple Grove jumped out to 10-2 and 13-3 leads to start the game before Wayzata took a two-point halftime lead.
The teams traded leads down the stretch, with Maple Grove taking its last lead at 44-43 with 2:40 to play.
Wayzata scored the last six points of the game, with Kallie Theisen’s putback basket giving them the lead for good.
Theisen scored 16 points to lead Wayzata.
Jordyn Lamker had 15 and Abby Schulte 14 for the Crimson.
