Truax Fills Void for Boxing Fans with Fight Videos

Unlike a lot of prizefighters Caleb Truax is a true fan of the sweet science and watches a lot of fights. But with boxing cards cancelled due to COVID-19, Truax is finding a different way to get his fix.

“Basically I was just bored and there’s no boxing on so I decided to make a list of my favorite fights,” says the Osseo native and former IBF super middleweight champion.

Truax is posting those fights on his Facebook page and calling them #COVIDclassics.

He encourages others to post comments, and then follows up with a video describing his memories of each fight. “They’re all fights I watched live on TV over the years and all have special memories for me,” says Truax.

Number seven on the list features Felix ‘Tito’ Trinidad against Fernando Vargas in a junior middleweight unification fight from 2000. Trinidad is Truax’s favorite fighter and he remembers watching that bout at a friend’s house with a former Minnesota Twins pitcher.
