Tara Starks Named Hopkins Girls Basketball Coach
Tara Starks has been named the new head coach for the Hopkins girls basketball program.
Starks has previous high school coaching experience at Minneapolis North and is currently the head coach for the Metro Stars 2022 AAU team.
The Metro Stars roster includes several current Hopkins players.
Starks was the junior varsity coach for 10 seasons at North in the early 2000’s and was the Polars’ head coach for one season.
Her daughter Tee Tee was an all-state guard at Hopkins, graduating in 2015.
Starks replaces Hall of Fame coach Brian Cosgriff who retired from coaching this summer after 21 seasons and seven state titles at Hopkins.
The Royals carry a 63-game winning streak into next season.
