State Gymnastics Meet Starts Friday

The Minnesota state high school gymnastics meet vaults back to downtown St. Paul this weekend. The four-session tournament is Friday and Saturday at the Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

Hopkins, champions of Section 6AA, will compete for the state team title in the first session Friday, starting at 11 a.m.

The Hopkins team includes NyahSymone Britt, Leni DePauw, Jade Hutton, Annabelle Speers, Cassie Kaplan, Shelby Kaplan, Aria Berglund, Hennesis Morocho and Addi Walters.

Class A teams compete in the Friday night session, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Class AA individuals battle for state titles Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with the Class A individual meet Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

The Class AA individual meet includes local gymnasts Sasha Thompson of Maple Grove, Maya Woods (Park Center), plus four girls from Hopkins– NyahSymone Britt, Leni DePauw, Jade Hutton, Annabelle Speers– and four qualifiers from Wayzata- Mikaela Lundvall, Kate Mignone, Roshni Palaniswamy, and Kylie Ufheil.

Breck’s Cata Fabrega and Anika Golla will compete in the Class A individual meet.
