Section 5 Nordic Ski Championships
It was a good day for skiers from the northwest suburbs at the Section 5 Nordic ski championships.
Champlin Park won the boys team title to advance to state, with second place Maple Grove also qualifying.
The Maple Grove girls also advanced to state by placing second behind champion Elk River-Zimmerman.
Myles Brown of Maple Grove was second in the boys pursuit. Ben Lewis of Blaine took first.
Hailee Zimpel of Elk River-Zimmerman won the girls pursuit. Lindsey Young of Maple Grove was the top local finisher in fourth place.
