Osseo Legion Wins Thriller at Gopher Classic
Adam Lanners scored on a sacrifice fly by Ethan Lorentzen in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Osseo American Legion baseball team a 5-4 extra inning win over Waconia. The win was part of the 96-team Gopher Classic Legion tournament that started on Friday. Post 172 built a 4-0 lead through five and a half innings before Waconia rallied for four runs in the sixth.
Osseo heads into play later Monday afternoon against Fargo as one of the final eight teams remaining. Maple Grove reached the Round of 16 but was eliminated by Omaha Skutt 10-3 on Monday.
