MSHSL Board to Reconsider Football, Volleyball for Fall
The Minnesota State High School League’s Board of Directors has called a special meeting for Monday September 21st to discuss the possibility of moving football and volleyball back to fall.
In August the two sports were moved by the League to a special “spring season” scheduled to run from March 15 to May 15, 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. That decision could be reversed on Monday.
“The Minnesota State High School League continues its work of providing the safest possible way for students to participate in all League activities and athletics for the 2020-2021 school year,” League Executive Director Erich Martens said in a written statement today. “This special meeting called by Board President Blaine Novak will be a continuation of those very important discussions and decisions.”
Soccer, Cross country, girls swimming and diving, girls tennis are all playing this fall, with reduced schedules.
