Max Murphy Signs with Diamondbacks
Robbinsdale native Max Murphy has signed a contract to play for a farm team in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. The 26-year Cooper High School graduate was one of the top players for the St. Paul Saints the past two seasons.
Murphy was assigned to the Diamondbacks’ team in Visalia playing the California League, a high Class “A” league.
He was hitting .343 with 17 homeruns and 43 runs batted in just 50 games this summer with the Saints.
Murphy was drafted in the ninth round of the MLB draft by the Minnesota Twins and spent four years with their organization.
