Maranatha Girls Basketball Headed Back to State
The Maranatha girls basketball team is back in a familiar spot, with one difference.
After qualifying for the class A state tournament the past eight years, Maranatha’s enrollment dictated a move into class AA for this season.
The Mustangs didn’t let the change slow them, as they beat Holy Family 65-55 at St. Cloud State University to win the Section 5AA championship.
Maranatha is the number two seed for the state AA tournament and they will play Mesabi East in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Williams Arena.
