Maple Grove Legion Falls in Extra Innings
The Maple Grove legion baseball team lost a heartbreaker 2-0 in nine innings to Monticello.
The loss knocks them into the loser’s bracket of the Sub-State 11 tournament.
Pitchers Frankie Volkers of Maple Grove and Ethan Bosacker hooked up in a good duel.
The game remained scoreless through seven innings.
Monticello scored twice in the top of the ninth and held on for the win.
