Maple Grove Girls Basketball Happy to be Back in Gym
After a pause to high school sports due to high COVID-19 numbers in Minnesota delayed the start of the season, the players and coaches in the Maple Grove girls basketball program are happy to be back in the gym.
Tryouts and practices started Monday for the Crimson and winter high school teams around the state.
Maple Grove returns four of five starters from a team that was 23-6 last season, winning the Northwest Suburban Conference’s North Division.
They lost a very good player in Abby Schulte, who is having a strong start to her college career at North Dakota State.
A veteran Maple Grove team does return starters Jordyn Lamker, Ari Gordon, Izzy Brant, and Kylie Baranick.
It’ll be a very different season with a shortened schedule and face masks required for players even during games.
Still, it should be a strong season for the Crimson.
