Maple Grove Falls to Centennial in Section Boys Hockey
Maple Grove took aim at a second straight Section 5AA boys hockey championship Thursday night, but Centennial had other ideas.
The top seeded Cougars won 6-4 to punch their ticket to the state class AA tournament.
Matt Jaglo scored to give Maple Grove a 1-0 lead before the Cougars tied the game 1-1 after the opening period.
After Centennial took 2-1 and 3-2 leads, Maple Grove’s Tyler Kostelecky scored twice to tie the game, first 2-2 and then 3-3.
Centennial scored the next three goals on their way to the 6-4 victory.
Lucas McGregor had two goals for the Cougars.
