Maple Grove Boys Hockey Loses Section Final
The Maple Grove boys hockey team lost the Section 5AA final to Blaine 2-1.
It was the fourth consecutive trip to the final for the Crimson.
Maple Grove struck just 17 seconds into the game as Sam Jacobs scored.
That turned out to be the only goal for Maple Grove.
Carsen Richels scored the game-winner for Blaine on a powerplay in the third period.
Maple Grove goalie Jack Wieneke made 35 saves; Blaine’s Joe Daninger stopped 32 shots.
