Maple Grove Boys Golf Wins Section 5AAA Title Again
The Maple Grove boys golf team won its second straight Section 5AAA boys golf championship Wednesday, beating runner-up Spring Lake Park by 16 strokes. It is the third section title in four seasons for the Crimson.
Maple Grove seniors Ryan Stendahl and Gavin Grahek finished first and third overall.
Stendahl shot rounds of 70 and 71 at Bunker Hills to win medalist honors.
Davis Tripp of Maple Grove placed fourth (147), two shots behind Grahek while Maple Grove’s Aidan Steel (149) and Zach Johnson (150) finished seventh and eighth overall.
Drew Krekelberg of Rogers shot 148 to qualify for state as an individual.
The state AAA tournament is June 11-12 at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, site of the 5AAA boys tournament.
