Maple Grove Boys Basketball Set for Semifinals
After an impressive win over Apple Valley in the state class AAAA quarterfinals, the Maple Grove boys basketball team is set to face top seed Cretin-Derham Hall in the semifinals.
That game is Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Williams Arena.
Fourth seed Maple Grove (22-8) won its eighth straight game in the 74-51 win over Apple Valley.
Cretin-Derham Hall was ranked number one all season and carries a 28-1 record after beating Rochester John Marshall 69-57 in the quarterfinals.
The Crimson and Raiders didn’t meet this season but did play a year ago with CDH winning.
They also met in the semifinals of Maple Grove’s last state tournament appearance in 2021, again with the Raiders prevailing.
