Maple Grove Advances to Section Boys Hockey Final
The Maple Grove boys hockey team has advanced to the Section 5AA title game for a second straight season.
The Crimson beat 3-2 in the semifinals Saturday in Champlin to reach the finals.
After Blaine scored just 2:29 into the game, Matt Jaglo answered with a goal late in the first period for the Crimson.
Jaglo tallied again early in the second period, and Tyler Kostelecky added a shorthanded goal four minutes later to give the Crimson a 3-1 lead.
Ethan Haider made 31 saves for Maple Grove.
They now face Centennial for the section title Thursday at Aldrich Arena.
