Hopkins Girls Basketball Eliminates Wayzata
The Hopkins girls basketball eliminated Wayzata with a 77-60 win in the Section 6AAAA championship.
It’s the third win of the season over second-ranked Wayzata for number one Hopkins.
The Royals relentless pressure forced turnovers and wore the Trojans down.
Hopkins built a twelve-point halftime lead, but Wayzata battled back to within seven points.
That’s as close as the Trojans could get.
Paige Bueckers and Dlayla Chakolis each scored 25 points for Hopkins.
Kallie Theisen had 18 to lead Wayzata in her final game as a high school player.
Hopkins carries a 29-0 record into the state class AAAA tournament.
