Heritage Christian Girls Basketball Headed to State for First Time
The Heritage Christian Academy girls basketball team is headed to the state tournament for the first time in program history.
The Eagles had lost to Mayer Lutheran in the regular season but they came up with a strong performance Friday night at Anoka-Ramsey Community College to win the Section 4A title 71-58.
Taylie Scott scored 27 points in the win for Heritage, which is located in Maple Grove.
The Eagles did not get seeded for the class A tournament and they drew top seed Lyle/Pacelli in the quarterfinals.
That game opens the class A tournament Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Arena.
