Former Osseo Star Tom Windle Signs with Mets
Former Osseo and University of Minnesota lefthanded pitcher Tom Windle signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets.
Windle received an invitation to the team’s major league camp as he looks to break through to make his big league debut.
He’s been assigned to the Syracuse Mets, the AAA affiliate.
Windle last pitched in 2019, after minor league baseball was shut down for the 2020 season due to COVID-19.
He’s been pitching professionally since 2013 after a strong career with the Gophers.
Windle has been training in the Twin Cities since leaving spring training in the Red Sox organization last March.
He spoke with Jay Wilcox of CCX Sports via Zoom.
