Former Maple Grove Boys Hockey Coach Recognized
Former Maple Grove boys hockey coach Gary Stefano was recognized at a ceremony Saturday.
Stefano dropped a ceremonial first puck before the Maple Grove-Osseo game at Maple Grove Community Center.
Stefano was inducted into the Minnesota H.S. coaches association hall of fame last fall.
He coached for 32 seasons in all, 17 of them as head coach at Maple Grove.
He was also a head coach for five seasons at Park Center, and coached the Pirates and Crimson to state appearances.
Cooper graduate Stefano also was an assistant at Cooper and Osseo.
Maple Grove beat Osseo 7-0 in Saturday’s game.
