Crimson Softball Edges Elks
The Maple Grove Crimson softball team won a key game Tuesday, edging Elk River 3-2.
Each team scored a run in the first inning, and it stayed 1-1 until the fifth.
Sophie Culhane dropped a two-run single into short rightfield for Maple Grove to score two runs.
Elk River responded with a run in the sixth, but Maple Grove held on for the win.
Maple Grove improved to 7-1 with the win, while Elk River dropped to 4-1.
