Crimson Legion Rally Falls Short
After trailing 7-0 after one half inning and down 8-0 at one point the Maple Grove American Legion baseball team nearly came back before falling 9-7 to Coon Rapids Wednesday night. Jerry Gooley hit a two-run homer for MG in the fifth inning and Ben Buchert added a two-run single in the sixth inning. Maple Grove is one of the host sites for the 96-team Gopher Classic Legion tournament that begins Friday morning at 16 sites across the metro area.
