Cooper Girls Win 20th Game by Beating BSM
After beating Benilde-St. Margaret’s by nearly 40 points the first time the teams met this season, the Cooper girls’ basketball team figured to get a tougher test in the rematch.
Benilde surged into a 15-8 lead in the first half, but Cooper responded with a 13-0 run to take the lead for good. The Hawks had a nine-point lead at halftime and were up by 20 until the Red Knights scored the last two baskets of the game.
Cooper improved to 20-2 overall and 11-0 in Metro West Conference play with the win.
Cooper has a two-game lead in the conference with three league games left. Kierra Wheeler had 19 points in the win for Cooper.
