Cooper Football Coach Gets Big Award
Cooper head football coach Willie Howard is the Star Tribune’s all-metro coach for all boys sports.
Howard was honored at an all-metro celebration at Target Field earlier this week.
Howard’s Hawks were 9-1 last season.
The coach was not the only honoree from the northwest suburbs.
Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound-Westonka’s Robins won the adapted sports team of the year.
Wayzata’s synchronized swimming team was honored, along with three individuals from the school.
They are Tristan Nelko for boys golf, Anders Sonnesyn for Nordic skiing, and Khalid Hussein for boys track and field.
