Cooper Boys Basketball Wins Conference Opener
The Cooper boys basketball team won its Metro West Conference opener, beating Benilde-St. Margaret’s 88-72.
Cooper is the defending conference champion.
The Hawks jumped out to an early lead before the Red Knights chipped away.
Another Cooper run put them up 41-28 at halftime.
BSM put together another strong stretch to cut their deficit to single digits before Cooper pulled away.
Cam Vaughn had 18 points to lead Cooper.
Isaiah Smith scored 25 for the Red Knights.
