Brooklyn Center Boys Basketball Set for State Tourney

The Brooklyn Center boys basketball team is set to make its first trip to the state tournament in 35 years.

The Centaurs captured the Section 5AA title by knocking off top seed Minneapolis North 81-76 in St. Cloud last Friday.

Brooklyn Center is 21-8 and seeded second in the state Class AA tournament. The Centaurs, whose previous state appearances came in 1973 and 1983, meet Breckenridge in the quarterfinals Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Williams Arena.
