Breck Loses Overtime Battle to Orono in Section Boys Hockey Final
The Breck boys hockey team scored two upset wins to start section play, but the Mustangs did lose a heartbreaker 2-1 in overtime in the Section 2A championship game Thursday night.
Orono scored in the final minute of the first period and that 1-0 lead held up until Breck’s Nick Strom scored a power play goal with 5:38 to play in regulation to tie the game 1-1.
A little over five minutes into overtime Orono’s Thomas Walker scored a shorthanded goal to give the Spartans the win
