Breck Girls Swimming Beats Blake
The Breck girls swimming and diving team defeated Blake 58-44 in an IMAC Conference meet Tuesday.
The Mustangs’ Katelin Phelps set a new pool record in the 100 yard backstroke winning in a time of 58.29 seconds. Phelps was state runner-up in the event last year.
Meagan Englert, Maddie McDermott and Abbe Colgan also won races for Breck. Carly Bixby won two events for Blake.
The Bears also won two relays but the Mustangs’ overall depth gave them enough points to win the meet.
No fans are allowed at high school meets this fall and masks are required for all who are not in the pool.
