Breck Girls Hockey Takes Tournament Opener
The Breck girls hockey team won its state tournament opener Wednesday.
The Mustangs beat a stubborn Fergus Falls team 2-0 at Xcel Energy Center to advance to the semifinals.
Breck’s Katherine Solohub scored just over two minutes into the game to give the Mustangs 1-0 lead.
The defending state Class “A” champs didn’t score again until a minute remained in the game as they got an insurance tally.
Breck faces Mound-Westonka in the semifinals Friday morning at 11:00.
