Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls Hockey Drops 6AA Final to Edina
For a sixth straight season, the Edina girls hockey team defeated Benilde-St. Margaret’s in the Section 6AA final.
The Hornets held off the Red Knights 1-0 to advance to the Class AA state tournament for a twelfth season in a row.
Cate McCoy’s goal in the first period from Audrey Davis ended up being the game’s only score.
Edina’s penalty kill shut down the Red Knights’ power play, as Benilde-St.Margaret’s went 0-for-6 on the advantage.
The Hornets will now face Bemidji in the state Class AA quarterfinals. The Red Knights finish their season with a 16-10-1 record.
