‘World’s Largest’ Smelt Fry Begins Wednesday To Benefit Good Causes
An annual spring tradition gets underway this week. The Brooklyn Park Lions Club’s 61st annual “World’s Largest” Smelt Fry begins Wednesday evening.
The Brooklyn Park Lions are expecting to fry up 1,300 pounds of smelt this year, a new record. Last year’s smelt fry ran out of the small fish.
The event helps raise money to provide vision screenings for kids, as well as funds for the youth Brooklyn Park Lions Drum & Dance Corps.
The smelt fry runs through Wednesday through Friday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Brooklyn Park Community Activity Center.
