Timberwolves Become Guest Readers at Earle Brown Elementary
Earle Brown Elementary in Brooklyn Center had some very tall guest readers today. Taj Gibson and other Minnesota Timberwolves paid a visit to the school. The team read stories to kids about trailblazing women in celebration of women’s history month.
“These kids really idolize some of the players and coaches,” says teacher Kim Crawford.
“They got to come in and the kids were just so grateful,” said Crawford.
The team got something out of it too. Players say it was great to spend time with the kids.
“They really look up to us,” says forward Robert Covington. “Spending our quality time with them, seeing the smiles that we put on their face. Stuff like that is life changing. And for us to come out and do it, that’s what it’s really about.”
There’s a special T-Wolves connection to the school. Kim Crawford’s brother is head coach Ryan Saunders.
