Robbinsdale’s Annual Ice Cream Social Changes Locations
The ice cream social hosted by Citizens Independent Bank is the annual kick-off to Whiz Bang Days. This year because of construction, the event is moving to the Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home.
The Citizens Independent Bank Ice Cream Social is known for dishing out a healthy helping of hospitality. The business has served the community ice cream for decades.
“It’s a big family tradition and that what we love most about it,” said Citizens Independent Bank Vice President Mark Morris. “We’re heavily involved in the community.”
Residents come back year after year to kick off the festival with the ice cream social.
“People that were 5 or 6 years old that remember it, now they are in their 20s. They love coming to the ice cream social,” said Morris.
New Location
This year, the Whiz Bang Days event is moving to a new location due to all the construction at the bank.
“One of our board members is Dan Delmore from Gearty Delmore Funeral Chapel and he has graciously offered his parking lot,” said Morris.
While the location is different, organizers are promising to dish out the same family fun as years past.
“Gives you a good feeling inside knowing you’re doing something good for the community,” Morris said.
The Citizens Independent Bank Ice Cream Social takes place July 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
