What’s Next for Shuttered Crystal Broadway Pizza Space?
One month ago Broadway Pizza in Crystal went out of business. There is no word on what will replace the well-known chain and city officials had no comment on the closing. Paster Properties owns the site.
Closure Catches Some Residents Off Guard
The closure caught some residents off guard. Broadway Pizza has 15 other locations in the Twin Cities metro area.
“I am surprised,” said Terrie Fornell of Crystal. “They do bingo and stuff. I don’t know, but maybe I should have gone there. Then they wouldn’t be closing.”
“I was very surprised,” said Ciyan Johnson, who said she went to Broadway Pizza often. “This is actually a place I like to go get drinks and relax after work and even fun nights with friends. It’s one of the places that actually offers vegan options.”
However the news didn’t shock some customers, who felt something was amiss.
“We used to come here often,” said Mike Deotis of Crystal. “But the service kept getting worse and worse, and they even forgot my food.”
According to the city of Crystal, the property is zoned and can be used for commercial uses. Anything fitting that definition could possibly go in the Broadway Pizza spot.
