What Would You Like in New Playground? Brooklyn Center Seeks Public Input
Brooklyn Center families can have an impact on how playgrounds will look for the next 30 years in the city.
The city is replacing playground equipment in four of its 19 parks this year. It’s part of a normal scheduled maintenance. The city said playground equipment needs to be replaced every 25 to 30 years. The rest of the playgrounds will be replaced within three to four years.
“We want to provide an environment for families of all ages to come out and play and enjoy great parks and playgrounds that Brooklyn Center has to offer. Hoping everybody can give a little input. We’re hoping their kids get involved and make it a fun and inclusive experience,” explained Carissa Goebel, Brooklyn Center’s recreation program supervisor.
The city hopes to have design proposals up on the Brooklyn Center website the first week of February. Residents can vote on the designs until the last week of February.
The playgrounds are scheduled for replacement by early summer.
