Weekend Showcase: “Godspell Jr.” on Stage in Crystal
It’s a 1970s vibe with one of the two rock operas based on the books of the Gospel this weekend at Elision Playhouse in Crystal, as Kaleidoscope Performing Arts presents its production of “Godspell Jr.”
“I hope that the audience really sees in this the heart of Jesus: loving, kind, generous, selfless and gentle,” said actor Lucian Book, who portrays Jesus.
The shows this weekend are Saturday (three shows) and a Sunday matinee.
“This is a great show about the parables of Jesus, the crucifixion, and the resurrection,” said Frank Thomassen with Kaleidoscope. “I think it’s going to be really entertaining, funny, it’s going to be great dancing, acting, singing.”
“I just hope that the audience leaves this feeling uplifted,” said Book. “You just don’t want to miss out on this.”
