Weekend Showcase: From Corn Mazes to Halloween Fun
Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze
The Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze, located in Brooklyn Park, is back with more fall fun. This year’s maze is designed after the Minnesota Lynx WNBA team logo.
“We have the Lynx Day on Saturday. So we’re going to have players, we’re going to have special activities,” said Bert Bouwman, owner of the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze.
Each year Bouwman partners with a charitable organization associated with the sports team he carves into the corn maze. So far the mazes have contributed $188,000 to charities. This year he’s teaming up with the Minnesota Lynx FastBreak Foundation.
The petting zoo is also back at the Twin Cities Harvest Festival and Maze with many animals you won’t see anywhere else. There’s also some added animal fun mixed in this year.
“They have a new little activity like goat, duck, and pig races. So that is something that we’re very excited and very fun to see. Those ducks that are a special breed and they love to run,” said Bouwman.
Bouwman planted special giant corn around the edges of the maze area this year. It is well over 10 feet tall and the ears are indeed giant.
”MEA is a great weekend. A lot of grandparents looking for something to do with your grandkids. We would love to welcome you here. We have a lot of activities. I guarantee you will be happy and you will be a famous grandpa and grandma,” said Bouwman.
